Facebook post on Chance the Rapper

this Facebook post had a catchy headline with just enough info to draw me in and click to the site and finish the article thus driving traffic to their site. this is a proud moment for us as a hip hop community being that chance is a breakthrough artist that wasn’t working under any label to have his freedom to write as he wishes and not to be driven by anything more than his passion.

Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Jay Z, DMX, Busta Rhymes,Public Enemy, Gang Starr and Notorious B.I.G… to name a few. are some of the most recognized east coast rap artists dead or alive. trail blazers! all referenced directly or indirectly through style or flow to this day, if not dead they may be past their prime. however clearly still making a huge impact on the industry.

We’ve Come so Far

Hip Hop and Rap culture have come so very far from its beginnings. Throughout the years it has has been frowned upon for causing bad behavior to being looked at as a great form of expression. The culture, the techniques used, and the followers have all grown and change to fit the times yet the roots remain. I think this is something we can all admire as music and hip hop lovers alike. They style has changed by far this is easily seen if you simply compare Nas to an artist today like lil uzi vert. Some might not like the new style saying it lacks depth and meaning but I think that it’s important to dig deeper and appropriate the music for much more than just its lyrics the tech used to make these songs has come long ways since it once began creating a unique new sound. However, there are still great artists very deeply into the roots of the industry with deep well throughout lyrics. As a culture, artists and followers alike we’ve all come so far.

With one song in 93′ Wu Tang Clan revolutionized hip hop as we knew it. Wu Tang Clan still to this day has a lot of influence on hip hop ans rap. Many artist take small or even large pieces of inspiration from them or their music. Probably their most significant lyrics ever are the ones posted above from their song C.R.E.A.M. released in 1993 still plays on radio and in movie there is even a reference to it in the movie nerve release just last year in 2016
