One word: stickers.

Not Cinderella or Bubble Guppies or smiley face stickers, but functional stickers. Planner stickers!

You probably still I’m crazy. Yes, people make stickers specifically to put in planners. And they make a fortune off of it. Sometimes it is their sole job! I’ll list some of the Etsy shops below that I purchase my stickers from.

Now unfortunately, I’ve dropped way more money on planner stickers than I’d like to admit to. My sticker collection is quite massive, and whenever I find a cute sticker, I need to get it. I have stickers for every holiday, for almost every activity, and for almost every animal. They’re so fun and so cute and they make your planner a little more fun and interactive.

I spend part of Sunday morning planning for my upcoming week, and 90% of that planning is throwing in some stickers. It’s so much fun. Do I have a test coming up? I have a sticker for that! Do I have a paper coming up? I have a sticker for that too! Does my day look boring and I want to throw in some flowers or hearts? I’ve got tons of those!

One of the shops I listed below is a shop that sells Washi tape. I’m not sure that you’ve heard of it, but it’s becoming super popular and it’s all the rage. Washi tape is this fun and decorative tape that makes anything look so much better. People use Washi tape in their notes, but I don’t have time for that. I usually package up my planners for shipping with Washi tape, so I outline super special in it in my planner. You really should invest in some Washi tape. It’s makes even wrapping gifts or taping something back together fun and cute.

I am typing this as I’m sitting next to my cousin on an airplane heading to Florida. The first of our cousins is getting married, so this is a huge event. Jess has her planner sitting out on the minuscule flop down table planning for the next couple of weeks. She just crossed out one of her events because it was canceled. Guess what! There’s stickers for that too!! Canceled, reschedule, not today. They are countless numbers of stickers (except for tattoos…which makes me sad).

Planning doesn’t need to be a production like I make it. Just color code! Even if you have a plain looking planner, it’s much more appealing to the eye if you use some color. As I’ve discussed in earlier posts, I color code everything based on the event: school, work, important, volunteer, to do. Making planning appeal to the eye can make it much more enjoyable. Grab some colored pencils, colored pens, or my favorite: <a style="color: #800080"
