The Hollywood's Reporter's article on Erin Condren
The Hollywood’s Reporter’s article on Erin Condren

Since I’ve started Autumn Breezy, I’ve disliked Erin Condren planners for obvious reasons. Her planners are what I aspire to do with mine. They’re beautiful, organized, customizable, clean, and visually appealing. But after reading The Hollywood Reporter‘s “Planner Guru Erin Condren Dishes on the Internet’s Agenda Obsession” Q&A and her Our Story (about me) page on her website, I’ve come to admire her.

Before Erin started her Life Planners, she was working in retail. She later quit, after having twins and decided that she had to do something else. Originally, she began with planner stickers, but then the Erin Condren Life Planners emerged in 2009.

The article mentions that we live in a technologically-based society. Kids today use their cell phones as their everything; their calendar, their contacts, their life. So why are physical planners being sold today when everything is done on the phone? “The desire for a physical, customizable planner solution is not only alive and well, but thriving” (Hollywood Reporter).

Old planners used to be very blah. Why do people carry Erin Condren books when they they’re walking through the mall or going on a trip (guilty!)? Condren says that it’s because planners like her’s are inspirational and that people have part in customizing it. Planners are no longer painful to look at.

Customizable planners are definitely becoming more and more popular. People have a say in how they’re going to look, more than they used to. Quotes, color, size, design, patter, style, etc. There are so many more options now that your stereotypical Staples or Kmart planner.
